Flat Roof Renewal & Insulation
Consider insulating when you are looking to replace your flat roof. Building regulations advise insulating your flat roof whilst renewing, whether it be the main roof of your house, or an extension or dormer for your garage,a lot of the homeowning public living in flat roofed properties think its not possible to insulate their flat roof but this is not the case,in fact its as easy to insulate while renewing as it is just to renew.
The fibreglass wool loft insulation that most of us have in our lofts has largely been replaced by modern PIR foam on flat roof construction, which is a 100-mm thick foam that provides the same insulation as old, 300-mm (1-ft) thick loft insulation. There are several manufacturers, such as Kingspan™ and Celotex™, with web sites that provide more detailed information about this new type of insulation. It makes good sense to upgrade the insulation at the same time as your new roofing, as this may be the only practical time to do so.
Furthermore, we supply and fit a variety of different thicknesses of Kingspan insulation boards prior to applying rubbercover or felt finishes. First, deckboards are fitted with appropriate-length screws. Our technicians then attach the Kingspan insulation mushroom-top fixings, add another layer of decking, and finish by applying Firestone™ rubber cover with extremely strong adhesive glue.
